As part of our Monarch Butterfly Study, we made this adorable recycled cardboard craft! My boys had a blast making this, and it is super easy to make. This was also a great Fine Motor Activity, which practiced the Pincer Grasp.

Materials

  • Recycled cardboard
  • Dried red lentils
  • Dried black beans
  • Mod Podge glue

Instructions

  1. Cut out a butterfly shape out of recycled cardboard.
  2. Set up a bowl of dried red lentils and dried black beans.
  3. Use a paintbrush to apply mod podge to the cardboard.
  4. Place the dried beans on the glue.
  5. Let dry flat.

This butterfly craft is the perfect pair with our Monarch Butterfly Unit Study, available for purchase here!
